Concertino for Soprano Sax and Strings (2016) (premiered by Matt Ennis and the Culver City Symphony)
Commissioned by Matt Ennis and the Culver City Symphony; Frank Fetta, conductor
I was asked by saxophonist Matt Ennis to arrange my oboe concerto for soprano saxophone and string orchestra for a performance with the Culver City Symphony, and was happy to do so. The saxophone version was premiered in June 2016.
The piece is in three continuous movements, with a cadenza for the saxophonist at the very beginning and another near the end of the work.
